Best Spyware Remover Programs - You Need One

Scan Your PC For Spyware

The battle between computer users and spyware on the internet is never-ending, it’s constant, and it is a relentless fight. A good spyware remover must also be relentless, constant, and vigilant in combating the never ending flood of new spyware "definitions" that sprout up on the web every day.

Without a good spyware blocking and removal software you are essentially left at the mercy of unscrupulous coders to install command code on your computer that will do any number of horrid things. Spyware can allow remote computer(s) to monitor your machine. It can collect personal information - such as credit card numbers and other sensitive data, it can install key-logger software to record your keystrokes - essentially recording everything you type on your computer. It can redirect your browser to any site it chooses. It will slow your system down, it will create a very strange browser experience, and in general it can make your computer act in weird and not so wonderful ways.

Knowing how much damage spyware is capable of inflicting on your system, it should be obvious that the least of your worries are the annoying pop up windows normally attributed to spyware. If you’re infected, there’s a great deal more at risk than annoyance. You need a strong and reliable spyware removal program to be on a watchful alert for malicious code.

Once a spyware removal program runs on your system it will search every file on the drive(s) for any malicious code and/or spyware lurking about. Once it finds an offending item it will quarantine it, rendering it ineffective and harmless. It is extremely important to always update your spyware removal virus definitions - at least once every few days. New spyware is found on the internet every day, and any good spyware remover program will be constantly updating to recognize the new spyware - in order to appropriately quarantine the offending code from harming your system.

Here are my personal picks for the best available remover programs. Some are free, some come at a small charge, but all have been tested and meet the criteria as being the best available.

1.      NoAdware - The best by far at recognizing new threats and deep searching your hard drive for hidden malicious codes. It is not free, but the cost is very minimal.

2.      SpyBot Search and Destroy - Second best. It updates constantly, although it is a manual update. SpyBot can recognize some infections that other software will miss.

3.      AdAware - Adaware was brilliant when first introduced, however at some point an over ambitious programmer or two had temporarily bloated it with unnecessary code. The latest version shows that the company has gone back to the roots of the program and as such it is a great adware removal program once again. AdAware comes in both a free and a paid version.

4.      Threatfire - This is another free program that works extremely well with other antivirus programs. Threatfire uses a technology called ActiveDefense and can provide significantly more protection when used in concert with a program such as NoAdware.

5.      Appranger - Appranger has a 30 day trial period after which there is a small charge for continued use. Appranger is another well rounded and robust spyware removal program that can do the job well.

I can not stress enough just how crucial it is to have a good spyware remover on hand to periodically check your system. The only computer user that does not absolutely require this type of software is a person not connected to the internet. My advise is to grab the best you can find since you can never be too secure online.
