Here are some helpful tips on how to clean up your computer:


 

Speed: 

 

-Delete large programs that you no longer use.  Reduce the number of programs that start up when your computer boots up, if possible.  A handy program is Glarysoft’s CodeStuff Starter, which lets you manage start up programs and running processes.

 

-Consider deleting hefty and sluggish anti-virus programs.  Programs by Norton/Symantec in particular can slow down a computer to unmanageable speeds, and McAfee can be sluggish as well.  You may want to consider faster (and free) alternatives such as Avast! and Nod32.

 

-Defragment your hard drive.  Windows users can use the system’s Defrag tool to do this.  Defrag is useful for organizing system contents for optimized speed.
